Diane McCarthy

Diane was brought up and educated in Manchester and studied French and Business Studies at the University of Edinburgh and the Université Grenoble Alpes. She has lived and worked in North Wales for over 25 years and is ambitious and hopeful for the region, the people who live and work here and the possibilities for the future. She believes that a strong, confident University is key to the social, cultural and economic life of our region, and is keen to provide whatever support she can to Wrexham at this exciting period in its history.
Diane’s career so far has included international banking, retail management and financial services. She is currently Chief Executive of the Diocese of St Asaph and has extensive experience of developing strategy and leading organisational and cultural change programmes.
In her spare time, Diane enjoys theatre, live music of all genres and is a very slow runner!
