The day begins with an exciting cyber security-themed Escape Room experience, where participants work together to solve challenges based on real-world cyber threats. This practical and engaging workshop is designed to help individuals, community organisations and businesses build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to identify funding opportunities and develop strong, competitive applications.
During the morning session, participants will explore the wider funding landscape, gaining an understanding of the different sources of funding available, including grants and other funding routes. Through interactive discussions, case studies and group activities, attendees will learn how to identify suitable opportunities, understand funder expectations and develop effective funding strategies. At Wrexham University, we are proud to invest in and support our local community. This practical one-day workshop has been designed to help food businesses across Wales enhance food safety standards, protect their customers and strengthen their reputation.
Combining expert guidance with hands-on learning, the workshop brings food hygiene and allergen awareness to life through interactive activities and practical exercises. Participants will gain valuable knowledge that can be applied immediately within their business, helping to create a safer dining experience and build customer confidence.
The day is divided into two focused modules:
Morning Session: Food Hygiene for Food Businesses Gain a practical understanding of food hygiene principles and best practice. Through engaging activities and a hands-on practical session, participants will explore key topics including food safety, contamination prevention, safe food handling and maintaining high hygiene standards in the workplace.
Afternoon Session: Allergen Awareness for Food Handlers With food allergies and intolerances affecting increasing numbers of consumers, understanding allergen management is more important than ever.
