    Book your Applied Science equipment

    AR 2000EX Rheometer
This is a laboratory device used to measure the way in which a dense fluid (a liquid, suspension or slurry) flows in response to applied forces.  It is possible to use it to study some physical properties of blood or other bodily liquids.

    CSC Isothermal Titration Calorimeter
A label-free quantification technique used in studies of a wide variety of biomolecular interactions. It works by directly measuring the heat that is either released or absorbed during a biomolecular binding event.

    SETARAM Micro Differential Scanning Calorimeter
A thermoanalytical technique in which the difference in the amount of heat required to increase the temperature of a sample and reference is measured as a function of temperature.

Malvern 1000HSA Zetasizer and Malvern Nano-ZS Zetasizer
They provide the ability to measure three fundamental characteristics of particles or molecules in a liquid medium: particle size, Zeta potential and molecular weight.

Applied Biosystems Voyager-DE MALTI-TOF Mass Spectrometer
MALDI-TOF MS is an analytical technique in which particles are ionised, separated according to their mass-to-charge ratio, and measured by determining the time it takes for the ions to travel to a detector at the end of a time-of-flight tube. It can analyse a wide variety of biomolecules, such as peptides, proteins, carbohydrate, oligonucleotide, and so on and has emerged as a potential tool for microbial identification and diagnosis.

Perkin Elmer Lambda 25 UV-vis Spectrometer
One of the most useful tools for quantitative analysis with a broad range of applications (e.g. determining drug concentration).

    Nicolet iS5 FTIR spectrometer
One of the most useful tools for qualitative analysis with a broad range of applications (e.g. determining drug molecular structure).  We have both transmission and ATR (attenuated total reflection) measurement modes.

    Dionex High Performance Liquid Chromatography
One of the most useful tools for separation of sample mixture and quantitative analysis with a broad range of applications based on polarity (e.g. drug analysis).

    Agilent 8860-5977B GC/MSD system
This brand-new GC-MS instrument is extremely powerful in separation and qualitative analysis of volatile sample mixtures. Applications of GC-MS include drug detection, fire investigation, environmental analysis, explosives investigation, etc.

    Dionex ICS-90 Ion Chromatography
Used to separate and analyse charged molecules in aqueous solutions, including proteins and DNAs etc.

Perkin Elmer Analyst 100 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer
Used to measure the concentration of a variety of metal ions in aqueous solutions, e.g. the concentration of calcium in human hair samples.
