Summary: Helen Prosser (Director of Teaching and Learning at the National Centre for Learning Welsh), Teresa Davies (Coordinator and Tutor of Welsh at Work at Wrexham University) and a group of Welsh learners from various levels will discuss the scheme, its first two years at the university, and their experiences of learning Welsh.

Summary: This session will explore different aspects of disability in Wales, focusing on how the challenges faced by children and people with a range of disabilities are being recognised, and what is being done to ensure everyone is included in the education system and the Welsh-medium world. The speakers, specialists in different research fields, are united by a shared commitment to communication and promoting equal opportunities for all in education.

Talks, Panels and ScreeningsTalk: How Ultrasound Technology Can Determine the Vowel Systems of Northern and Southern Welsh Speakers
Time: 11:00-11:30
Talk Members: Ffion Roberts
Summary: While we have some acoustic data on Welsh vowels, no studies have yet used ultrasound to explore how they’re physically formed. Ultrasound captures real-time tongue movement and enables the use of biofeedback, offering a new insight into vowel production across Welsh dialects. This talk will present research currently being conducted, showing how technology can help map pronunciation and support future language learning. Come along and take part in our data collection to contribute to this exciting research project
