  • When will my Graduation ceremony take place?

We’ve recently moved to a twice-yearly graduation ceremony structure, with events now held during the Easter period and in October.

Our next graduation ceremonies will take place in October 2025.

These ceremonies will be for those who receive their results between January 2025 and July 2025.

Awards conferred after this period will be scheduled for graduation ceremonies from 2026 onwards.

  • Am I eligible for Graduation?

Eligibility is determined by the award received and the award conferral date, provided there are no outstanding financial issues on the student account.

  • Can I defer or be invited to a different ceremony?

You can only be invited to one ceremony, and deferrals are not permitted.

Graduation is offered as a celebration of your achievement, but attendance is optional and not required for your award to be conferred.

  • Will I receive my certificate at my ceremony?

The production of certificates for eligible awards begins after your award is conferred by academic board. Certificates are then dispatched in due course.

Once certificates are dispatched, they may take up to one month to be delivered via Royal Mail for UK students and up to two months to be delivered via international postal carriers for students outside of the UK.

If your certificate has not been received within six months of receiving your results email, please contact certificates@wrexham.ac.uk

  • How many guest tickets can I purchase?

You can purchase two guest tickets in the first instance. Once attendance numbers are confirmed, additional tickets may become available for purchase, subject to venue capacity.

  • How do I declare an access for myself or for my guests?

When you book your ticket, you will be asked if you or your guests have any access needs. The Graduation Team will contact each graduate directly about any declared access needs.

The graduation venues are equipped with lifts and are accessible to wheelchair users and individuals with mobility challenges.

If you would like to discuss any accessibility needs prior to booking your ticket, please contact the Graduation Team at Graduation@Wrexham.ac.uk

  • When does ticketing close?

Ticketing will close on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 23:59. It is essential to confirm your attendance by this deadline. If we do not receive confirmation, you will not be able to participate in the ceremony.

  • Can I cancel my tickets

Graduates may withdraw from participating in the ceremony; however, cancellations must be submitted via the designated portal at least fourteen working days prior to the commencement of ceremony week to qualify for a refund. Requests submitted after this deadline will not be eligible for reimbursement of any ticketing fees already paid.

  • How do I collect my tickets?

Tickets are printed and available for collection prior to your ceremony. Tickets must be collected before gowning and photography.

  • Can children come to graduation?

Children and babies are welcome to join graduation celebrations, however, any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult guest at all times.

Graduation ceremonies are a formal event that last approximately 1 – 1.5 hours and may not be suitable for young children.

Please note, guest seating is in a different part of the hall to Graduands. It is not possible for children of any age to sit with, or cross the stage with a graduating parent, so we ask that you please ensure they are accompanied by an adult guest.

All children aged 3 years and over must have their own seat in the hall in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and therefore require a guest ticket.

As access and fire exit routes must be maintained. Prams and pushchairs are therefore required to be stored in the cloakroom provided before the ceremony.

To respect the formality of the event and minimise disruption, if a child becomes restless or distressed during the ceremony, guardians may be asked to take the child into the reception area.

  • Can I bring my belongings into the ceremony?

Graduates are not permitted to bring personal belongings, such as bags and coats, into the ceremonial hall or onto the stage. Please arrange to leave these items with your guests or in the designated storage area prior to the start of the ceremony. Once your award has been presented, you may not be able to return to the seat originally allocated to you.

When it's your turn, you'll be asked to enter the stage and present your registration card to the Event Marshal, who will pass it to the Graduate Introducer for your ceremony.
