During the Ceremony

  • Finding your seat

Doors will open approximately 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

Prior to entering the ceremonial hall, please leave your bags and coats with your guests, as you will not be permitted to bring them inside.

Your ticket will display your seat number. Ushers will direct you to your seat. Please ensure you sit in the designated seat as indicated on your ticket.

  • Programme Schedule

The Graduate Programme will provide an estimated order of events.

The ceremony is expected to last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

  • Presentation of your award

An usher will come to collect you from your designated seat at the appropriate time for your award. You must take your registration card with you.

As you queue to be presented on stage, graduation marshals will assist with additional checks to ensure you're in the correct position.

When it's your turn, you'll be asked to step onto the stage and hand your registration card to the usher, who will pass it to the Student Introducer for your ceremony.

Once the Student Introducer has announced your name, proceed to the centre of the stage to greet the Vice-Chancellor.

Following this, you will be guided back to your seat.

After the Ceremony

After your ceremony, we will be holding a drinks reception on the front lawn where you can celebrate your achievements with your peers and guests.

Please return your gown at the end of the event.
