Academic Entry Requirements

Applicants with the Świadectwo Dojrzałości (Matura) usually apply for the 1st year of our degree programmes. We would look for an overall score of 60%, with 60% at Extended Advanced Level for any required subjects. These required subjects would depend on the course you are applying for. If your overall score is lower than 60%, then you may be considered for one of our four year (including foundation year) degree courses.

If you took the Matura before 2005, then we would look for a score of 4/dostateczny (satisfactory).

On your application, please state each mandatory exam studied on a separate line with the grades/percentages achieved, with oral and written results for language subjects.

Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 26 points or more will also be considered for direct admission to bachelor's degree courses.

Taught postgraduate applicants would usually have passed a three year post-2001 Licencjat or Inżynier (bachelor’s degree) OR a three year pre-2000 Magister / Magister Inżynier (master's degree). We look for a grade of B (4.5/4+) but would consider applicants with C (4) or above.

For all levels of study, we’d also look for evidence of your English language ability. If you’ve taken an IELTS test, we’d look for:

  • Undergraduate – 6.0 overall, with no band below 6.0. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.
  • Postgraduate – 6.5 overall with no band below 6.5. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.

If you haven’t taken an IELTS test, we will also accept English Language at Advanced Level (average of oral and written results) from the Świadectwo Dojrzałości with a score of 70%, or at Standard Level with a score of 95% for entry to undergraduate programmes. Alternatively, please contact us for more details on what we look for from other approved English language tests.
