C-Corridor Science Labs
Consisting of two laboratories and a preparation room, with bespoke fit for purpose laboratory furniture and equipment in high quality, digitally enhanced spaces, our science labs are the perfect space to enable our students to thrive.
DELETEBCUHB Facility
Thanks to an agreement between Wrexham University and local Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), students can access and benefit from state-of-the-art molecular, analytical and diagnostic equipment located in several laboratories such as
DELETECrime Scene Cars
Used to replicate incidents out in the field, our crime scene cars are used by our forensic science students to gather evidence and analyse incident causes.

Tŷ Dysgu
Tŷ Dysgu/Learning House is our residential home right on campus. This versatile space, which is also used for our annual Major Incident simulations with local emergency services, can stage a variety of scenarios for students to work independently, or interprofessionally with other disciplines. Students from all our allied health degrees will gain a feel for working in the home environment.
Whether they are a policing or paramedic science student responding to an incident with casualties, or forensic science student scouring the home for evidence linked to a crime, Tŷ Dysgu will bring our students as close as possible to real life scenarios. .

Taphonomic Research Facility
Our DEFRA-licensed Taphonomic Research Facility is one of the few decomposition research sites in the UK, offering a unique environment for studying the effects of environmental factors on the decomposition of non-human animal remains.
This secure outdoor space, benifiting from being equipped with emerging technologies, allows students and researchers to conduct hands-on experiments, simulating forensic scenarios in a controlled and ethical manner.
Students benefit from practical experience, engaging in real-time observation and analysis of decomposition processes, which supports their understanding of forensic taphonomy and post-mortem changes.
DELETEOsteology Workroom
A specialised space designed to support students and researchers in forensic science, anthropology, and bioarchaeology.
Offering a practical environment for working with skeletal remains, the workroom features a curated collection of both human and non-human animal skeletons, on loan from the Poulton Research Project, alongside dry animal bones from our taphonomic research facility.
With open shelving for easy access and large padded desks for the careful handling of remains, this facility is ideal for observation, measurement, and documentation, enhancing both teaching and research.
DELETEAnalytical Instrument & Research Labs
Our instrumental analysis lab boasts a broad range of analytical equipment supporting both students in their learning and research activities in chemistry and material science.
Our Centre for Water Soluble Polymers focuses on the research of polysaccharides and proteins, commonly referred to as hydrocolloids. They are widely used as thickeners, gelling agents, dispersants, emulsifiers and foaming agents in industrial formulations including food, pharmaceuticals, personal care and cosmetics. More recently, our research domain has also extended to nanocellulose and other functional materials. We have got comprehensive equipment in our research lab for sample processing and charaterisations.
