Research Integrity  

The University has signed up to a new Research Integrity training package dedicated to supporting academic staff and Postgraduate Research Students at Wrexham University. The training hosted by Epigeum is a comprehensive training package designed to provide the most up-to-date training on the principles, practices, and responsibilities that apply to every researcher throughout the research lifecycle.  

Access the training:  

  1. Create an account on the Epigeum platform using your@wrexham.ac.uk email address
  2. During registration, please enter the following access token in the Token field: 33bd8388
  3. Once you have registered, please activate your account by clicking on the link in the email you will receive from Epigeum (please check your junk/spam folders if you do not see the email in your inbox, or click here to resend the activation email)
  4. You can now log in to the platform with your username (email address) and password (chosen during registration). 
  5. The Research Integrity programme will be visible in your My Courses screen

Research Ethics  

The training sessions listed below are open to all staff and PhD students at Wrexham University. It is essential for university staff to understand research ethics, the policies and procedures in place, and how to navigate the online application system. This knowledge is crucial for conducting research and for teaching and guiding students to become responsible and ethical researchers.

It will discuss the different processes and procedures for securing ethical approval at the University, including the different review routes of faculty-level and university-level committee approval.

This one-hour session aims to introduce the principles of research ethics. It will examine various approaches to ethical decision-making, the core values that support ethical research, and the ethical concerns related to other research methods. Furthermore, the session will clarify what constitutes 'ethical research' and explain the kinds of research that require ethics approval.
