Daniel Finnerty

Daniel qualified as a paramedic in 2007 after attending Sheffield Hallam University. He is passionate about the education of Paramedics and started his journey as a paramedic educator as a Clinical Education Tutor for London Ambulance Service NHS Trust where he studied for his diploma in teaching and training and became a Paramedic Practice Placement Educator.

Daniel’s career as a Paramedic has spanned across four NHS Ambulance Trusts within the UK providing him with sound experience and understanding of the role of the modern-day Paramedic. He has also worked within medical centres aboard cruise ships travelling the world. This has provided him with the experience of working within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, the assessment and management of a variety of patient conditions, and in-patient care.

Before joining Wrexham University, Daniel was a lecturer in Paramedic Science at Birmingham City University where he studied and achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and gained a Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy.

Daniel is currently undertaking his Master of Science qualification in Health and Social Care where he is exploring his topics of interest of Paramedic education and simulation.

Daniel has an award in personal training and enjoys exercise and running in his spare time.
