Paul is Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Fine Art. His specialist areas include performance art, video, photography, digital media, installation and critically engaged art practices.
His collaborative projects include how artists visualise the Anthropocene and the exploration of obsolete analogue technologies as sites of memory. Together with exhibiting, writing and presenting at conferences, and facilitated workshops in Athens, Greece and Riga, Latvia, Paul leads in the curating of research-based gallery spaces at the Regent Street campus.
His research focuses on the relationship between identity and territory, humour and art, post-conceptual art practices, and the episteme of artistic research. More recently, Paul’s research has engaged in the precarious pedagogies of teaching and learning in higher education art and design.
