Polly has an academic legal background and her specialism is in Criminal Evidence and Procedure.  Polly is nearing completion of her PhD in Law which focuses on evidential rules in the criminal courts, looking specifically at the concept of evidential relevance. Polly also has masters in Law (LLM), an MA in Social Research, and an undergraduate degree in law (LLB). Polly teaches a range of legal modules at level 4, 5 and 6, and also teaches a Research Methods module to level 5 students.

Polly has a keen interest in prisons, penal policy and prison education initiatives.
