Rhiannon Macpherson

Rhiannon is Principal Lecturer in Allied Health and Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy.

Rhiannon has previously held the position of Programme Lead for the part-time occupational therapy programme and admissions tutor for both full and part-time routes. She graduated from Coventry University as an occupational therapist in 1994 and completed a Masters in Health Science in 2005. Rhiannon is currently studying towards a Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care and University of Chester.

Rhiannon worked as an occupational therapist within the NHS for 10 years, laterly as a Clinical Specialist for Children and Young People. Prior to working in the NHS Rhiannon worked in both the USA and New Zealand as an occupational therapist for children. She has also worked as a clinician within the independent sector.

Rhiannon has an interest in widening participation and the experiences of transition into practice for occupational therapy graduates.

Transition into professional practice, early career experiences, widening participation, diversity within the profession of occupational therapy, interpretative phenomenological analysis
