Sally began studying in Swansea University in 2010. She qualified as a Paramedic in 2012 and began her career in South East Coast Ambulance service for a short time, before securing a position in Wrexham for the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust (WAST).
During her career in WAST, Sally has been responsible for leading the Ebola response in North East Wales, mentoring Student Paramedics and arranging continuous professional development opportunities for staff. Sally gained a seconded position as Clinical Team Leader in 2017, before moving to a Duty Operations Manager role, focusing on staff welfare and major incident management.
More recently, before joining Wrexham University, Sally worked as a Senior Paramedic. This role focused on championing clinical excellence, supporting staff on clinical ride outs and providing enhanced skills and medications to the critically ill. Sally has continued her learning journey and has completed several modules relating to Advanced Clinical Practice, such as minor illnesses and clinical diagnostics, towards her Masters degree. These experiences give Sally a great understanding of the Paramedic profession.
In her spare time, Sally likes to socialise with friends and family and walk her boxer dog, Stanley!
Sally has exciting plans for the Paramedic Science course in Wrexham University and can’t wait to share her enthusiasm about pre hospital care with the Paramedics of the future!
