Simon is a Building Services Engineer with over 20 years in industry, over half of which spent as an engineer and leader in NHS Estates and Facilities in both Wales and England. Simon has worked in various roles in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (Wrexham Maelor), The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (Oswestry), Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board (STWICB) and Wirral University Teaching Hospitals.

Simon is an Incorporated Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, a Member of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management, and Associate of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.

Simon has delivered Healthcare Engineering Management degree programmes at undergrad level since 2021, and joined the Built Environment team as a Senior Lecturer at Wrexham University in 2023.

Simon is an alumnus of Staffordshire University, having graduated with a first class in BSc (Hons) Management of Healthcare Engineering Technologies and Facilities.

Simon has an academic interest in hospital infrastructure, specialist critical ventilation, operating theatres and associated building services.

General interests include grassroots football, Wrexham AFC, photography and travelling.
