Vivienne is Principal Lecturer at Wrexham University, with lead responsibility for Social Work and Therapeutic Child Care. Her teaching interests focus on trauma and attachment, including ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences). She is conference organiser of the annual Therapeutic Child Care conference run each year in partnership with The Consortium for Therapeutic Communities. 

Vivienne was previously employed as a qualified social worker with children and families. Before joining Wrexham University, she was a senior manager in the private care sector with lead responsibility for therapeutic services. 

 As a social worker, she has managed a local authority family centre and children’s residential homes. Her practice experience therefore has covered both the investigation of child abuse and therapeutic work with children and adults with a history of trauma.
