Wendy Williams
Independent Governors

Wendy holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Communication Studies from the University of Liverpool. Her career as HR Director spanned the construction, manufacturing, and local government sectors. She later founded her own consultancy, specialising as a Change Director. Her clients have included multiple UK central government departments and private sector organisations in France, Germany, and the United States.
Currently, Wendy provides executive coaching across the full spectrum of leadership responsibilities, with a particular emphasis on navigating change. She also volunteers her coaching expertise to support CEOs of various charitable organisations.
Wendy has been a dedicated contributor to the NHS since 1998, serving in multiple non-executive roles. She is presently a Non-Executive Director at The Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust. Her previous appointments include Chair of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, where she oversaw the development of a state-of-the-art hospital, and Deputy Chair of Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group. She has also held non-executive positions with three other NHS organisations in the North-West.
Embracing lifelong learning principles, Wendy applied this commitment by serving as a governor at Liverpool John Moores University. She also held a Non-Executive Director role on a wholly owned subsidiary of LJMU, chaired the People Committee, and contributed to several other governance committees. Recognising education as a cornerstone of her own professional journey, she has also served twice as a school governor giving back to the sector that shaped her success.
