5 reasons to attend a university open day

If you are thinking about going to university, open days are a great way to discover whether the university you’re interested in is right for you. Whilst you can learn a lot about universities through their websites and virtual tours, open days give you unique insight into what the university is like, bringing your vision to life.

We have outlined five reasons why you should attend an open day at Wrexham University.

Get a feel for campus life

One of the key reasons to attend an open day is to get a feel for campus life. Our campus tours, which occur every half an hour, allow you to explore our campus, visiting our modern classrooms, Library and Student Support Centre, and various social and study areas. You can also check out our halls of residence to see what accommodation we have on offer.

By exploring our campus, you will be able to get a true picture of what it’s like to be a student at Wrexham University, allowing you to establish whether it’s the right place for you.

Explore our facilities

We are investing £80m in our facilities as part of our Campus 2025 strategy, so we recommend coming to see what kind of newly installed equipment you could be using in your course. Our developments are modern and industry-standard, giving you a competitive edge in your future job search. What’s more, you can check out our modern social and study spaces to see where you might be completing work and/or enjoying a coffee with friends in the future.

Meet our lecturers

Attending an open day will also give you the opportunity to meet our staff and lecturers. If there is a specific course that you are interested in, you can attend one of our academic talks in the relevant subject area to learn more about what our courses entail. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, in a relaxed setting.

Speak to our students

We will also have students on hand to share their views on being a student at Wrexham University and answer any questions you may have. If you think of any questions after the open day, you can also chat to one of our students here.

Explore Wrexham

Open days are the perfect opportunity to have a walk around Wrexham if you don’t live locally. Whether you enjoy scenic walks and exploring historical sites, going shopping and trying out local cafés and restaurants, or attending entertainment venues and having a night-out, there really is something for everyone to get involved with.
