William Aston Hall

The William Aston Hall is Wrexham’s largest theatre and concert venue with a capacity of between 880 people (seated) and 1200 people (standing).

Located on the outskirts of Wrexham city centre on the campus of Wrexham University, it has hosted some of the biggest names in comedy (including Sarah Millican, Katherine Ryan and Jimmy Carr), music (The Royston Club and Sweet) as well as ballet, dance, talks and shows.

The William Aston Hall is the perfect venue for larger-scale events from concerts and orchestral performances to awards ceremonies and product launches – and anything else in between. Its close proximity to the majority of the University’s teaching rooms makes it an excellent choice for conferences, with plenty of break-out rooms of all sizes. The large stage has state-of-the-art sound and lighting which can also be used during conferences for plenary sessions as well as the opening and closing of ceremonies.

The hall is located in the main University building and is fully accessible with lift access to the main auditorium and balcony, and dedicated wheelchair spaces. The large reception area outside the hall is the perfect space for delegate welcome and registration, and is an ideal location for exhibitions and displays to run alongside events. By day the adjacent Café Bar 45 provides a great area for networking over a coffee.

The venue is named after William Aston CBE (1869-1962), a renowned businessman and local politician who played a key role in the development of Wrexham as a town and as a centre of learning.
