Wrexham Glyndŵr University is based in North East Wales. Our main campus in Wrexham is ideally located to give students a memorable experience of studying in the UK. Wrexham is a safe and vibrant town with plenty to see and do. Only an hour away from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester, with beautiful scenery, heritage sites and outdoor activities right on the doorstep, Wrexham is a great location for students to experience British university life.
We offer vocationally relevant courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a wide range of subjects, including business, engineering, science, computing and the creative arts. Our career-focused curriculums are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to help them gain successful employment and prepare them for life in the workforce after graduation. Students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through work placements and the chance to showcase their work in competitions and exhibitions.

Academic Entry Requirements
We require one of the following Federal Secondary School Leaving Certificates for undergraduate entry:
- Certificat de Maturité / Certificat de Maturité Cantonal reconnu par la Confédératio.
- Maturität / Eidgenössisch anerkanntes kantonales Maturitätszeugnis.
- Attestato di Maturità / Attestato di Maturità Cantonale riconosciuto dalla Confederazione.
- Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 26 points or more will also be considered for direct admission to bachelor's degree courses.
We would expect an overall grade of 4.4 (where we require 112 UCAS tariff points), or an overall grade of 4.5 (where we require 120 UCAS tariff points).
Those with an overall grade under 4.4 would be considered for a Foundation Year.
For postgraduate study, we require an overall grade of 5 or above from the Diplom/Diplôme; Lizentiat/Licence; Staatsdiplom/Diplôme d'Etat or Fachhochschule Diplom (FH)/Hautes Écoles Specialisées Diplôme or a bachelor degree (post-2001).
For all levels of study, we’d also look for evidence of your English language ability. If you’ve taken an IELTS test, we’d look for:
- Undergraduate – 6.0 overall, with no band below 6.0. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.
- Postgraduate – 6.5 overall with no band below 6.5. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered.
English Language Entry Requirements
To meet the English language entry requirements at Wrexham Glyndŵr University, international students are expected to have achieved one of the following qualifications listed below. All certificates/qualifications accepted are assessed based on their equivalence to 6.0 overall and a minimum of 5.5 in each component of the IELTS for UKVI (Academic) test. Selected programmes require grades equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each skill score. If you are a national of a UKVI Approved Majority English Speaking Country, or you have completed a degree in a UKVI Approved Majority English Speaking Country in the last 5 years, you will be exempt from meeting this requirement.
