Wrexham University is based in North East Wales. Our main campus in Wrexham is ideally located to give students a memorable experience of studying in the UK. Wrexham is a safe and vibrant city with plenty to see and do. Only an hour away from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester, with beautiful scenery, heritage sites and outdoor activities right on the doorstep, Wrexham is a great location for students to experience British university life. 

We offer vocationally relevant courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a wide range of subjects, including business, engineering, science, computing and the creative arts. Our career-focused curriculums are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to help them gain successful employment and prepare them for life in the workforce after graduation. Students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through work placements and the chance to showcase their work in competitions and exhibitions.

Academic Entry Requirements

These are examples of the qualifications that we may accept from your country. These lists are not exhaustive and may not show all of the qualifications that we will accept. All applications are subject to approval.

Foundation or Extended Programmes

We require the successful completion of the High School Graduation Diploma, including good passes in maths for engineering programmes. This includes students who are studying in a US school system overseas. Such students would not normally be required to provide evidence of English language level. Please note that if the student has completed SATS I plus either SATS II or APs, they may be eligible to enter the International Year One.

Undergraduate Programmes

For entry onto Year 1:

We require a High School Diploma with a GPA of 3.0/4.0. plus one of the following:

  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with an overall grade of 1100..
    • American College Testing (ACT) with a minimum of 22.
    • Two advanced placement (AP) tests in relevant subjects with grades 3 or above.

Advanced Entry to Undergraduate:

You may be considered for advanced entry onto year 2 of an undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.8 from an associate's degree, provided that you have taken the relevant subjects.

Postgraduate Programmes

A four year degree from an accredited university, with a GPA of 2.6.

English Language Entry Requirements

US nationals are not required to demonstrate additional English language testing as part of the entry requirements.
