Wrexham Glyndwr University first once again for social inclusion in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide
Date: September 2022
WGU remains number one in England and Wales for Social Inclusion for the fifth year running, and has been ranked in the top 10 for Teaching Quality, in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.
The university was also ranked second in Wales for Overall Student Satisfaction and Teaching Satisfaction in the annual guide.
Professor Maria Hinfelaar, Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham Glyndwr University, said: “Once again, Wrexham Glyndwr University has maintained its excellent reputation for overall student satisfaction and teaching satisfaction, recognised also in the Complete University Guide 2023 where we are first in England and Wales for Student Satisfaction.
“The university prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming environment for students. It is therefore wonderful to see that our students are so pleased with their learning environment.
“This is such good news for our incoming students as well as those already progressing their studies with us, and welcome recognition of the hard work done by staff and the investments we are making across our campuses.
“We cannot rest on our laurels, however, and will continue working hard to improve the student experience and opportunities for our students to thrive and succeed.”
The national newspaper’s list is based on an analysis of student satisfaction with teaching quality and their student experience, entry standards, research quality, and graduate prospects.
Since 2018 the guide also includes social inclusion rankings for universities in England and Wales.
The tables are based on key measures to reflect the diversity of their intake and subsequent success when attending university.
Glyndwr has performed well several university rankings in recent years, placing first in the UK for overall student satisfaction in Adult Nursing in last year's National Student Survey.
