Soft Engineering Coastal Protection at Barkby Beach

The Built Environment Team are working with Denbighshire County Council in association with WSP Engineering and Professional Services Consultancy, on the soft engineering coastal protection at Barkby Beach, Prestatyn project.

Surface geology of 'blow sand' alongside the elements, create a dynamic civil engineering environment resulting in damages to soft engineering sea defences. The research project explores the potential deployment of autonomous drones in monitoring soft engineering sea defences.
