The Wrexham Team was recently at the Wrexham Miners Project and The Stiwt, attending a thought-provoking exhibition as part of their role in the Centre for People’s Justice.

Candour and Communities examines a series of public disasters and controversies over the past century and the lasting impacts they have had on individuals, families, and communities. It highlights the difficulties people have often faced in seeking truth, accountability, and transparency from institutions.

The exhibition also considers proposed legislation commonly known as Hillsborough Law, formally the Public Office (Accountability) Bill. The Bill would introduce a legal duty for public authorities and officials to act with candour—being open, transparent and honest in their dealings with the public.

Currently touring the UK, the exhibition invites visitors to contribute to research exploring public perspectives on Hillsborough Law. It has been co-developed with representatives of communities affected by the events featured.
