The winner of the Visualising Research Competition 2026 is Viktoriia Iarova, PhD student, whose entry “The Ghost of Icelandic Glaciers” has been chosen as the Judges’ Winner of Wrexham University’s Visualising Research Competition 2026!
A fantastic piece of research captured in a single image and bagging £250!
The runners-up of the Visualising Research Competition 2026 are Dr Grace Thomas, with “Rethinking Inclusion: Beyond a Seat at the Table”, and Sara Hilton, with “From Constraints to Decisions: Learning Through the Game at Wrexham AFC”, who have been named as the two Judges’ Runners-Up in this year’s Visualising Research Competition!
Two brilliant entries showcasing the breadth and creativity of research taking place across Wrexham University and winning £50 each.
A huge congratulations to Cara Langford Watts, whose entry “What Did You See First?” has been crowned the People’s Choice Winner of the Wrexham University Visualising Research Competition 2026!

Past winners 2024-2025
The 2024-2025 Judges’ Prize went to Sara Hilton, whose image “Football for Change: Global Connections, Local Impact” won them the top prize of £250 and, of course, everlasting glory.
Runners-up in the judges’ vote were PhD researcher Karolina Skorek with “Screenshot you Soul” and Dr Grace Thomas with “What Does Inclusion Look Like?”
The People’s Choice Vote, decided by the public, crowned Karolina Skorek as this year’s champion. We also gave a special commendation to Cara Langford Watts, whose entry scored highly and impressed many voters (“Neutralising Compassion”).
