Awel Wynne-Williams

Senior Lecturer in Nursing

Picture of staff member

Awel graduated in 2013 with a degree in Children and Young People's Nursing and has since developed an interest in high dependency and intensive care nursing. Awel feels extremely grateful for her past opportunities to work in Children’s hospitals in London, Melbourne and Cardiff before attaining her qualified in specialty status as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse.

By now, Awel has moved home to North Wales to work as a Children's Nursing lecturer and has completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. As Awel returns to her local area, she hopes to continue her journey of lifelong learning and dedicates herself to using her first language, Welsh, by adopting an additional role as the lead for Welsh provision in the Nursing programmes.

Since Awel has gained recent experiences as a student herself, this has ignited her desire to help others learn. She hopes more than anything that she will support the students and future nurses; without a doubt, they are needed more now than ever before. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, horse riding and helping on the family farm.
