Christopher Bellis

Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy (MSK)

Chris graduated as a physiotherapist in 2004. He worked in rotational posts within the NHS before specializing in musculoskeletal care. He has worked in musculoskeletal assessment/triage and management, Rheumatology and First Contact Practitioner roles. He has developed advanced competencies such as non-medical Independent Prescriber and is also qualified to perform joint and soft tissue injections as well as having non-medical referrer rights. He continues to work part time as a Clinical Specialist First Contact Practitioner.

Chris is a Senior Lecturer on the Physiotherapy programme and also contributes to modules across the Allied Health and Sports Injury programmes. He gained a distinction in his MSc in Advanced Practice in Healthcare in 2016 and has completed a PGCert in Teaching in Higher Education in 2022.  In 2024 he was awarded a First into Research Fellowship from RCBC Wales. He is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
