Lisa graduated with Degree in children's Nursing in 2005. Working in a variety of settings within the Northwest and North Wales region over the last 20 years including, Acute Paediatrics, Children's Hospice but predominately working in the community with children young people and their families with complex health care needs and technology dependency.
Lisa is extremely passionate about the role she has in providing high quality, patient focussed health care, supporting children and their families to live within their own homes and their local community. Leading to her recently returning to higher education, as a student, whilst also working clinically to successfully complete her Specialist Practitioners Qualification in Children Community Nursing and Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification. Aspiring to develop the community service provision for technology dependent children by providing nurse led clinics, enabling care to be delivered closer to home, improving service user experiences of health care within North Wales.
Lisa has a impressive desire to have a positive influence on nursing in the future. Since returning to Higher education this desire has been fuelled more so, taking on the role as a Nurse Lecturer at Wrexham University, whilst still working within her clinical role. Lisa is excited and enthused to be involved with shaping the future of nursing, improving patients experience and the quality of care for children and young people of North Wales.
In her spare time, Lisa likes nothing more than being outside walking in the hills and mountains, chasing waterfalls with her little Cavapoo, and a cheeky cold water dip.
