Mark's career started nearly two decades ago, when he worked for Europe's largest distributor of communication support materials. Through a number of mergers and acquisitions, he led a number of strategic projects to streamline processes and increase the profitability of the UK Group. Discovering an interest in accountancy, he left his post after seven years, increasing the business unit's turnover to c£50m, and enrolled at university, graduating with a BA in Accounting and Management at Henley Business School and an MSc in Accounting at the University of Liverpool.
In his tenure, Mark has accrued a plethora of technical skills in accounting, auditing, credit risk, and corporate finance in both the public and private sectors. He has worked across multiple borders, including Luxembourg and Jersey, and has had exposure to a number of clients in the wealth & asset management, banking & capital markets, private equity, and real estate sectors. He trained at EY and obtained his professional accounting qualification.
He has experience teaching undergraduate students in a number of accounting and finance modules, such as Audit and Assurance, Financial Reporting, Taxation, and Financial Management. He has been influential in the quality assurance of undergraduate programs, accrediting a number of proposed programs in Malta.
