Prior to joining Wrexham University, Nikki worked for 14 years in the Work-based Learning (FE) sector as a Childcare Work-based Learning Practitioner, Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), and Lead Internal Quality Assurer, with a focus on Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Playwork and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Nikki started her educational journey with the completion of the Certificate in Education which then led to the BA (Hons) in Post-compulsory Education and Training and finally an MA in Education (Counselling Skills for Education). She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Nikki works on the BA (Hons) Education Studies, BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies and the MA Education online programmes.

Nikki is currently studying toward a Doctorate in Education, and for her thesis is exploring women's perceptions of their motivations for, challenges of, and impact on their personal and professional relationships when pursuing an EdD.

Nikki also supports the National Professional Enquiry Project (NPEP) and is engaged with the University's proposed Community Focused Schools project.
