Dr. Saba Ishaq teaches Business Analytics, Fundamentals of Business and Finance, International Business and Trade, and Financial Reporting. She completed her PhD in Accounting at Aston University in 2023, with a thesis on SMEs’ access to Islamic banking finance in Pakistan. Prior to joining Wrexham University in 2025 as a Lecturer in Accountancy and Finance, she worked as an Assistant Lecturer in Accounting at Coventry University from 2023 to 2025.
Research Interests
My research interests lie in SME finance, Islamic banking, gender, and social structures, with a particular focus on the accounting and financial reporting practices of SMEs and the experiences of women entrepreneurs especially how gender dynamics influence access to finance and decision-making.

My teaching interests span accounting, finance, corporate governance, business ethics, sustainability, and research methods. I have taught and led modules in areas such as governance, ethics, financial analysis, international finance, financial reporting, sustainability accounting, and research design.
