Dr Sue Horder is an Associate Dean: Academic Affairs in the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences and leads the Education Department, Youth and Community and the Animal Science subject area at the Northop Campus.
Sue is a member of the Faculty Leadership Team, leading on the quality of learning, teaching and assessment across the Faculty.
Before coming to Wrexham University, Sue’s teaching career began in Further Education teaching ICT, Web Design, Business Studies and Essential Skills. During this time Sue also worked with Airbus (in partnership with the FE college) in setting up a Learning Resource Centre on the Airbus site in Broughton. The Learning Resource Centre offered a range of on-line and classroom taught courses from soft skills, leadership skills, ICT and modern foreign languages to support the European consortium of which Airbus is a partner.
In 2004 Sue won the national title of Learning Centre Manager of the Year at the annual World of Learning Conference (WOLCE) event.
Sue moved to a Higher Education role in 2006 at NEWI in Wrexham (now Wrexham University) as a Senior Lecturer teaching initially on the PGCE/Cert Ed programme and other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Education department, prior to becoming Associate Dean in 2016.
In my spare time I like spending time with my family and I sing in a small choir.
