What were you doing before coming to Wrexham University?

Before I enrolled at the University I worked at a garden centre and ran my own small business producing and selling specialist house plant compost.

What attracted you to Wrexham University?

A friend who had recently graduated from Wrexham Uni and they talked me into applying after I’d posted something on facebook about wishing I wasn’t too old to retrain as a Forensic Ecologist. She assured me I wasn’t and that Wrexham uni was the place for me so I applied, got accepted and started my studies all within the space of a few months! I’m so glad I did!

What was the support like?

The support system is vast and it is so important to find out what extra help is available to youWhether you need assistance with IT, assignment writing, or researching there is always someone available on the resources team to helpThere is also a great Inclusion Team and University Counsellors who are on site and dedicated to helping you adjust to life as a studentYour personal tutor will be able to advise you about all the help and support available to you.

How do you think you have benefited from studying at Wrexham University?

I have benefitted hugely from studying at University. My academic achievements have far surpassed anything I thought myself capable of and I have learned so much in the short time I have been here. Not only that but I have made lifelong friends who have been a tremendous support from the very start of my course.
