Certificates
In order to be eligible to receive a certificate, your results must have been confirmed by an Assessment Board of the University for an award that is certificated.
In addition, you must also not have any outstanding financial obligations owed to the University to receive your certificate.
When will my certificate be distributed to me?
Once your award has been confirmed to you via email, the production of certificates for eligible awards will begin and they would be dispatched in due course.
Once certificates are dispatched, they may take up to one month to be delivered via Royal Mail for UK students and up to two months to be delivered via international postal carriers for students outside of the UK.
If your certificate has not been received within six months of receiving your results email, please contact certificates@wrexham.ac.uk
How is my certificate distributed to me?
If your place of study was in the UK, or you are a Wrexham University Online student, your certificate will be dispatched to the "Certificate" address that the University holds on file for you. To ensure you receive your certificate to the correct address you can check your certificate address held on file is correct.
To do this:
- Log in via e:Vision with your Wrexham University username and password
- Check the CERTIFICATE ADDRESS held for you is correct. To do this go to the ‘Personal Information’ tab at the top of the screen and under the ‘Contact Details’ section click on 'Update Certificate Address’
- If it is incorrect, update it to ensure your certificate is posted to the correct address once ready for dispatch. N.b. Your address would need to be updated within 1 week of receiving your award confirmation email.
Please note if you have not recorded a certificate address and you do not provide one, certificates will automatically default to being dispatched to your Home address recorded on the system, so please check that too to ensure it is correct
Re-checking your certificate address for postage is the best way to ensure your certificate is not lost in transit and you are not delayed in receiving it.
If you studied at one of our partner institutions outside of the UK, your certificate will be dispatched to the central office of your institution and dispatch/collection of your certificate will be arranged by them directly.
I think that my certificate has been withheld
The University will not dispatch certificates of any kind to any student who has outstanding fees owing to the University. If you have any fees owing which is preventing the release of your certificate, you sho"uld contact the University’s Finance Department on the details below immediately:
Email: accountsreceivable@wrexham.ac.uk or call: 01978 293037.
For students studying at partner colleges, you must contact the partner college’s finance team directly.
Certificates are also withheld pending the outcome of an academic appeal/academic integrity/disciplinary/suitability to practice.
Replacement certificates
A certificate is an important legal document and should be treated as such. Wrexham University will not issue replacement/duplicate certificates to any applicant holding an undamaged original certificate. Replacement/duplicate certificates, whilst of the same standing as the originals they replace, are produced in the layout used at the present time, and may therefore differ in presentation from the originals.
There are a number of circumstances in which you may wish to purchase a replacement/duplicate certificate. Please ensure you select the relevant type when placing your order. You are only able to order one copy of your original certificate. Multiple orders will not be processed.
All replacement certificates are dispatched by second class post as standard, however 'signed for' and 'tracked delivery' options are also available. We aim to dispatch replacement certificates within 6 weeks following receipt of your order (for replacement of a damaged original certificate this will be 6 weeks following our receipt of the damaged original certificate). Please note that if expedited postage is purchased, this is only effective with regard to the postage method. It is not possible to expedite the certificate printing process.
Regardless of which type of replacement certificate you require, you must also complete the questionnaire in order to finalise your order.
Please note that the University will not dispatch a certificate to an address where a certificate has previously not been received without the use of a 'signed for' or tracked method of postage (at extra cost to the student). Alternatively, a different secure address may be given for the certificate dispatch.
