Congratulations! Accepting a University Clearing offer is an exciting milestone and the beginning of your journey to university.

Once you've secured your place, it's completely normal to have questions about what happens next. The good news is that there are just a few important steps to complete before you start your course at Wrexham University.

From updating your UCAS application to preparing for Freshers' Week, here's everything you need to do after accepting your University Clearing offer.

Update your UCAS application

After accepting your Clearing offer, check that your UCAS Hub reflects your new university choice.

This confirms your place and gives you confidence that everything is progressing as expected. If you're unsure whether your application has updated correctly or have any questions about the process, our admissions team will be happy to help.

It's also worth keeping an eye on your emails over the coming days, as this is how you'll receive important updates and information about your next steps.

Apply for accommodation

If you're planning to move away from home, accommodation is likely to be one of your next priorities.

As soon as you've accepted your offer, take a look at the accommodation options available at Wrexham University and submit your application as early as possible. Applying promptly gives you the best opportunity to secure accommodation that suits your needs and gives you one less thing to think about before starting university.

If you're planning to commute instead, now is also a good time to start thinking about your travel arrangements and how you'll get to campus when your course begins.

Check your student finance

If you've already applied for student finance, remember to update your university details if you've accepted a different institution through Clearing.

If you haven't applied yet, don't worry. You can still begin your student finance application, but it's worth doing this as soon as possible to help ensure everything is in place before your course begins.

If you're unsure what you need to do, take some time to review your student finance application and make sure all of your details are correct before the start of term.

Complete your registration

Before teaching begins, you'll receive information about registering as a student.

Registration is an important step that confirms your place and gives you access to key university systems, learning resources and the information you'll need before your first day.

Keep an eye on your emails and complete any tasks as soon as they're sent to you, so you're ready to start your course without any last-minute worries.

Get ready for Freshers' Week

Once the practical tasks are out of the way, it's time to start looking forward to university life.

Freshers' Week is a great opportunity to meet new people, explore the campus, join clubs and societies, and settle into your new surroundings before teaching begins. Whether you're moving into accommodation or commuting from home, it's a chance to get to know the Wrexham University community and start building friendships from day one.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to discover the support services available across the University, helping you feel settled and confident as you begin your studies.
