This module aims to develop competency and critical application of strategies that address the complexity of caring for the person with diabetes through the use of current theory, evidence-based practice and technological advances. It is designed to upskill nurses in the management of diabetes.

What you will study

The module is practical and interactive, covering aspects of diabetes management such as medication, insulin, dietary approaches, foot care, retinopathy and blood glucose monitoring. The course is suitable for any post registration nurses who care for patients with diabetes including practice nurses, community hospital nurses, district nurses and ward nurses.

 

Entry requirements & applying

Students must have 2 years post-registration experience as a Registered Health Care Professional in an unscheduled or scheduled care settings.
