What you will study
Level 5 / Level 6 modules
The Top-Up with Pre-Bachelor's pathway provides a structured route into honours-level study. Before starting your Level 6 modules, you'll complete one Level 5 module alongside a dedicated English for Academic Purposes module to strengthen your technical knowledge, academic English and study skills.
You'll then progress to your Level 6 studies while completing the remaining Level 5 modules, enabling you to build confidence and subject expertise alongside advanced engineering topics, professional practice and your final research or design project.

Entry requirements & applying
For direct entry to the programme, applicants must have achieved a qualification at Level 5 or better in a relevant discipline.
Entry to the programme may be gained by students who can present one of the pieces of evidence listed below:
- Have passed a Dip HE in a relevant discipline
- Have passed a French DUT
- Have achieved a minimum of 90 ECTS credits in a relevant discipline
- Have passed a Foundation Degree or HND in a cognate discipline
- Have passed a qualification from an EU or other overseas country equivalent, in a relevant discipline. Such as State Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) or Mittelland Higher Technical (Höhere Fachschule Technik Mittelland)

Learning and Teaching

Learning is delivered through Wrexham University’s Active Learning Framework, blending on-campus sessions with online activities to give you the best of both worlds. You’ll develop key employability skills throughout your studies, with teaching that adapts to your needs and prepares you for the demands of your future career.
- Face-to-Face Learning: You will engage in lectures, seminars, and workshops in various settings, incorporating case studies and problem-based learning. In some instances, sessions maybe be recorded for later access via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
- Virtual Learning: Delivered through the VLE and Microsoft Teams, virtual learning includes asynchronous tasks (videos, quizzes, readings, virtual visits) and synchronous activities (discussions, case studies, simulations). Sessions will be recorded where appropriate
- Tutorials: Delivered both in person and online, tutorials promote active participation through individual and group engagement. They are designed to encourage critical thinking, reflective practice, and student-led learning, supporting creativity, independence, and a deeper understanding of subject knowledge and professional practice
- Assessment Strategy: The degree has an innovative assessment strategy with no formal exams, replacing them with coursework, practical work, and project-based assessments that mirror industry practice. This approach, combined with access to modern facilities and strong employer input, ensures graduates are well-prepared for employment or further study in the aerospace sector
