If you’re currently studying the Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife (Abitur), then we would look for a minimum GPA of 2.9 for entry onto the 1st year of one of our degree programmes.  In addition to your GPA, we would look for a grade of 10 in required subjects. These subjects would depend on the course you are applying to study with us.

The Fachgebundene Hochschulreife /Fachhochschulreife and the Berufsakademien Diplom (Diplom- BA) are also considered for entry onto our undergraduate programmes.

If you’re studying the Staatlich geprüfter Techniker (State Certified Technician) qualification, then you may be able to complete an Honours Degree with us in just 1 year. The State Certified Technician qualification allows entry firstly onto our Summer School, then onto the 3rd year of one of our Engineering or Computing degrees (please note that if you wish to study Computing, you may not need to complete our Summer School to receive an Honours Degree in one year).

For taught postgraduate study, applicants who hold the Magister Artium, the Diplom or the Erstes Staatsexamen (First State Examination) will be considered. We would also look for an overall grade of 3.0 or above or Befriedigend (or higher).

For all levels of study, we'd also look for evidence of your English language ability. If you’ve taken an IELTS test, we’d look for:

  • Undergraduate – 6.0 overall, with no band below 6.0. Individual band scores of 0.5 below this required total may be considered. Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 26 points or more will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree courses
