Wrexham University joins institutions across North Wales to promote opportunities for young people

A free careers and education fair showcasing thousands of opportunities in further and higher education, apprenticeships, training and employment will take place next month. 

The event is being delivered by the North Wales Tertiary Alliance (NWTA), which brings together Wrexham University, Bangor University, Coleg Cambria and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai; an organisation that aims to create more education, skills and employment opportunities for people across the region. 

Pathways to Success will take place at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on Saturday October 17, from 10am-3pm. 

Academics and representatives from the four NWTA institutions will lead interactive activities and talks on topics including careers, employability, student finance, UCAS, the Seren Programme, skills needs in North Wales, and Welsh language in the workplace. Employers from across the region will also be on hand to showcase career opportunities and share industry insights. 

Open to all, the free event aims to welcome students, parents, families and adult learners exploring their next steps. A free bus service will run across Mid and North Wales.*

The NWTA believes bringing education and industry closer together can help young people explore their options and make informed decisions about their future. It comes as North Wales records the highest estimated NEET rate in Wales, with 15.1% of 16 to 24-year-olds not in education, employment or training.
