Nick De Mora-Mieszkowski

Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy

Picture of staff member

I originally trained and worked as an actor before discovering Speech & Language Therapy in my mid-twenties. I have worked across a number of NHS trusts and health boards in a variety of roles and with patients with a range of conditions including neurological conditions such as brain injury and motor neurone disease as well  as patients in critical care and with respiratory issues associated with Covid 19.

Prior to joining Wrexham University, I also worked as an associate lecturer for Cardiff Metropolitan University. I provided specialist teaching on areas such as swallowing disorders but had a focus on sourcing and facilitating student placements in North Wales.

I continue to work part-time for the NHS where I specialise in complex swallowing disorders, run a videoflouroscopy (x-ray swallowing) clinic, see patients with Head and Neck Cancers and support acute inpatient services.
