Sara Hilton
Senior Lecturer in Football and Coaching Science
Sara is a Senior Lecturer and UEFA A Licence coach who teaches mainly on the BSc (Hons) Football Coaching and the Performance Specialist degree, where her main area of focus is coaching, coach education and community development. Sara is currently designing postgraduate provision within football and leads on all partnership provision within the sport and exercise science department.
Within the University, Sara is a nominated member of the Academic Board and represents the teaching staff within strategic conversations and actions within the University. As a fluent Welsh speaker, Sara is involved in the Welsh branch of the Academic Development Team and also is involved in curriculum design and development within the Academic Programmes Sub-Committee.
Sara is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and completed her Masters in Business Administration specialising in Educational Leadership and Management in 2022. Sara is currently exploring PhD areas of interest and intends on beginning her PhD study in 2025.
In terms of applied experience, Sara has gained an enormous amount of experience in coaching football at all levels with her most recent role being the assistant coach for the Wales Women U19 national team. Sara is passionate about the game and using sport/football as a vehicle to support the community and different groups in society.
