Taofik Adeosun
Lecturer in Accountancy and Finance
Taofik is an accountancy and finance lecturer at Wrexham Business School, with over two decades of industry experience and a strong commitment to professional education. He began his career in financial accounting with International SOS and later held senior roles at Shell, including financial control, asset accounting, and venture management.
Taofik has supported aspiring accountants through teaching and examination preparation for ACCA, ICAN, AAT and other professional bodies. Before joining Wrexham University, he lectured in accountancy at Kendal College in Cumbria.
He holds a BSc in Accounting, a PGCert in Governance and Sustainable Development, and an MSc in Islamic Banking and Finance (Distinction) from Bangor University, where he was the best graduating student in Accounting, Banking and Finance.
He completed a PGCert in Higher Education Learning and Teaching at Wrexham University and is a Fellow of Advance HE, ACCA and ICAN.
Outside work, Taofik enjoys reading, travelling, and reflecting on current affairs.
Research Interests
Taofik’s research explores the intersection of finance, sustainability, and governance. His current interests include corporate dividend policy and ESG impacts on borrowing decisions, the role of substance and form in Islamic accounting, and the use of financial ratios in evaluating quality and performance across UK higher and further education institutions.
