Creative Media Technology
Within Creative Media Technology, based in The Centre for Creative Industries building, we offer a wide range of industry-related tools and software to help the development of research and practice. With our fully-kitted onsite television and recording studios featuring 4K and High Definition camera, multi-camera control room, and post-production rooms, we have the capacity to work closely with internal and external partners in media production and television production technology. We often host community events, such as the FOCUS Wales international festival.
Our team has a variety of life experiences applying their knowledge and research to the real world, with DJs, audio engineers, film-makers, and musicians amongst them! Some of the currently active projects include the impact of metronome design on musicians’ performance, a collaboration with Sweden’s Royal College of Music on recording studio practice, and the precarity of the gig economy for musicians.
