In September 2024, we gathered in The Gallery to celebrate the entrants and winners of the year’s Visualising Research Competition. This year, there were 14 fantastic entries and as well as a Judges’ Vote, the images were opened up to the public for a People’s Choice vote.

Prof. Alec Shepley had the honour of announcing the winners and presenting them with certificates and prizes, and he spoke about how visualising your research is a really helpful tool to understand your work in greater depth. After thanking everyone for attending, Alec revealed the winners as:

People’s Choice: Dr Chelsea Batty and Tom King, whose joint entry was called "Mind Over Muscle: A Powerlifter's Journey with Mindfulness Acceptance Commitment Therapy" (top left).

Judges’ Vote runner-up: Nikki Ewing, with the entry "Visible Women" (top right).

Judges’ Vote runner-up: Dr Tracy Simpson, with the image "Ecological Citizens" (bottom left).

Judges’ Vote winner: Moira Vincentelli, with their image "Hijab, global and local" (bottom right).
