What attracted you to Wrexham University?

Wrexham University offers scholarships for international students, which greatly relieve the financial burden of studying abroad. The university also provides excellent facilities for nursing students to practice manual handling and clinical skills, ensuring we are fully prepared and confident before our hospital placements. 

Wrexham is a peaceful and quiet city. Living here isn’t stressful or fast-paced—it's always relaxing and laid-back.

Tell us a bit about your course

The Nursing program, including Adult Nursing, at Wrexham University is NMC registered, meaning students can obtain their NMC pin after graduation. The course offers a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, including clinical placements in hospitals. All theory and placement hours are strictly aligned with NMC and NHS requirements. It prepares students for a career as a registered nurse by covering essential topics such as patient care, anatomy, and professional ethics.

What did you enjoy most about your course?

What I like most about my course is the hospital placements. Although it’s tiring a lot of the time, especially when working on busy wards, we always learn a lot of practical skills during placements. I think it’s important to apply all the theory to practice in nursing, and placements provide a great opportunity for me to do that.

What was the support like?

The support for nursing students at Wrexham University is excellent. Lecturers and mentors are approachable and provide guidance both academically and during clinical placements. There are also wellbeing services, academic support, and peer mentoring available to assist students throughout their studies

How do you think you have benefited from studying at Wrexham University?

Studying at Wrexham University has provided me with valuable clinical experience through placements, strong academic knowledge, and practical skills essential for nursing. The supportive environment and hands-on training have helped me grow both professionally and personally, preparing me for a career as a registered nurse. 

Would you recommend undertaking a course with Wrexham University, and why?

Yes, I would recommend studying here. The nursing course offers a great balance of theory and practical experience, with excellent support from lecturers and clinical mentors. The simulation facilities and hospital placements help develop real-world skills, making it an excellent place to prepare for a nursing career.
