Welcome to Wrexham
Plas Coch
Our Plas Coch campus on Mold Road is home to the majority of the university's courses. The campus is a mix of Grade II listed buildings, modern 21st century facilities and state-of-the-art education centres. It’s just a 10 minute walk from the town centre, a 5 minute walk from Wrexham General Railway Station and is easily accessible by road.
Library
The library, based in the Library and Student Support Centre, houses hundreds of thousands of journals, electronic resources and books, as well as providing plenty of quiet study and group work areas. The university has computer suites conveniently located across campus and there are specialist labs for computing, engineering and art and design students.
Student Support and Students' Union
Also in the Library and Student Support Centre, you will find most of our student support services. Support is also on offer from the Students’ Union, where you can enjoy many of the university's social facilities, including the student bar, Glyn's.
Little Scholars
If you need childcare in order to study, we also have an on-campus nursery, Little Scholars.
The Study and The Gallery
We have two modern and welcoming social learning spaces: The Study and The Gallery. Both are colourful, stylish and practical, with great lighting, comfortable seating, air conditioning and plenty of three-point and USB charging sockets.
The Study has several booths with comfortable leather sofas, tables, acoustic panels and monitors that students can hook their devices up to in order to work collaboratively on PowerPoint presentations, videos or other creative projects.
The Gallery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and features a rolling programme of artwork.
Student-Centred Active Learning Environment
Our Student-Centred Active Learning Environment (SCALE-UP) room uses cutting-edge technology and design to improve the student experience. The B corridor and its teaching spaces have been refurbished too - all these developments are part of our £60m Campus 2025 commitment to ensure excellent facilities for our students.
Centre for the Creative Industries
The Centre for the Creative Industries provides a focal point for creative industries activity, promoting greater interdisciplinary collaboration and involving subjects as diverse as art and design, computing and engineering. The home of BBC Cymru Wales in Wrexham, the centre features state-of-the-art TV and radio studios, 3D workshops, design studios, IT suites, Apple training suites and post-production audio and visual facilities.
Sports Centre
You can play a variety of sports, use the gym or take a class at our Sports Centre.
William Aston Hall
William Aston Hall is an entertainment venue that attracts regular acts from retro musicians such as Belinda Carlisle, Alexander O’Neal and Boyzlife, to big-name comedians including Dave Gorman, Jason Byrne and Rhod Gilbert.
Language Centre
Our modern Language Centre forms the hub for our international student community. We offer intensive and pre-sessional English language courses for non-native speakers to improve their fluency level, and a Summer School programme to help international students prepare for University study before they formally start their degree course in September.
Regent Street
Just five minutes down the road from Plas Coch is the School of Creative Arts, the hub for the university's art and design courses. Our historic Grade II building in Wrexham town centre oozes character and encourages your imagination and ingenuity. The school has a dedicated studio and workshop spaces for a host of artistic disciplines. It also hosts The Art Shop, which stocks a wide range of art and design products at reasonable prices.
Colliers Park
Part of our Campus 2025 expansion is the £5m Colliers Park National Football Development Centre. The centre benefits Welsh football both nationally and locally, by delivering accessible, high-class training facilities for young players and the wider football workforce in North Wales.
The new facility includes two top quality grass pitches, a FIFA quality 3G pitch, plus off-pitch support facilities such as activation areas, learning suites and changing facilities. Wrexham Glyndŵr University also has a state-of-the-art education facility incorporated for students on the Sports Science and Sports Coaching degree programmes to use.
