How can I help?
North Wales Children’s University
Our scheme encourages and rewards young people for trying new activities and getting involved with volunteering.
We hope that by doing so, they will find new friends and hobbies, learn new skills, develop their confidence and explore their potential.
We signpost the children and young people to partner individuals and organisations in and around North Wales, who provide these extracurricular and volunteering activities so that they can easily experience a huge range of fun things to do.
Graduation Ceremony
Each time a CU member completes an activity, they receive a stamp code that turns into time and we, at the Children’s University, reward that time with certificates, but more importantly, with a Graduation Ceremony, every year.
The Graduation Ceremony allows the children and young people to feel celebrated alongside their peers and in front of their teachers, parents and local dignitaries.
Attending these ceremonies is a really big deal and the sense of celebration that is created is a huge part of what keeps children motivated and engaged.
Recording a video of congratulations
We’re looking to gather messages of support and congratulations from people, like you, who have connections to North Wales or, who our children and parents, respect and look up to.
We’d love it, if you would take the time to film a short message of congratulations and support, that we will then play at the beginning of our Graduation Ceremonies.
The details below will give more information, though you can contact Natalie Edwards, Project Manager, North Wales Children’s University, with any specific questions.

What would you like me to say?
Although we have listed a suggestion below, please feel free to amend and say what you wish in your own voice, following this structure;
- Congratulations
- Introduction to yourself, your career and your links to North Wales (if applicable)
- Acknowledgement of their hard work to get to the Graduation Ceremony
- Reminder to keep going!
“Congratulations to all of the children and young people involved in today’s Graduation Ceremony for the North Wales Children’s University.
My name is…. and I am….
- Talk about your career / role
- Talk about your links to North Wales (if applicable)
Whilst I can’t be there to celebrate with you, I wanted to say well done for all of your hard work. Hopefully you have had fun and made new friends and I hope you continue on this journey.
I’m sure you all look great in your robes and mortarboards and I know your parents, carers, teachers and friends are very proud of you.
Keep up the good work! You never know what these opportunities will lead to in the future”.

Messages of support
How long should my message be?
This can be as long or as short as you wish. Even just one minute would be hugely appreciated, with 5 minutes being the maximum.
How should I film my video?
We are not looking for anything professionally filmed. A short video filmed from a laptop or mobile phone is great. Please ensure that it’s filmed in landscape and is audible.
How can I send you my video?
How will you use my video?
