If you are a school setting

Glyndwr University and partners have been successful in securing over £800k from HEFCW to roll out the Children’s University across North Wales over the next year. Through the grant, we are able to offer 40+ schools who work with years 4 – 9 across Wrexham, Flintshire, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Anglesey. The grant will fund 35 young people, per school, to become members of the Children’s University from September 2023 to February 2024.

To apply for one of the free places, please complete the expression of interest form.

For schools in Wrexham & Flintshire, if the funded route is not available to your setting, you also have the option to join as a paid member for 12 months. More information on the membership package can be found here.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the paid, membership package to schools outside of the georgraphical area of Wrexham & Flintshire at this time. If your school operates in Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd or Anglesey, please email the North Wales team to register your interest. We will keep you informed of any developments with funding that will allow expansion of the scheme.

If you are a community group

Community groups in Wrexham & Flintshire also have the option of the joining as a paid member for 12 months. More information on the membership package can be found here.

If you are a parent or carer

Sadly, the North Wales Children's University is currently, unable to cater for homeschooled young people or individual families, however, the CU Trust, who governs the scheme, have recently launched a new membership option for your child to get involved! Please visit their website for more information.

What if there isn't a Children's University in my area?

Whilst we can't offer you a membership subscription, due to our contract with the CU Trust, if your school is in an area where there is no Children’s University in operation, you can still sign up. You could sign up as a Children’s University licensee and get all the tools you need to run in your school or multi-academy trust. Contact Sonya Christensen and ask about ‘Children’s University in a Box’.
