Between November 2021 and May 2022, a small number of schools and community groups, across Wrexham and Flintshire, were invited to be a part of our Pilot, to test out the scheme.

176 young people started the pilot and they were all challenged to complete 30 hours of extracurricular activity in order to attend a very special Graduation ceremony.  

Each participant received a Passport to Learning, their own CU online account and face to face training. At the beginning and end of the Pilot, the young people were asked to complete a short survey to help us, understand their journey.

From the 176 who started, 126 were successful in gaining 30 hours of activity.

The Statistics

  • 176 young people started the pilot 
  • 126 completed 30 hours of extracurricular activities 
  • 112 attended Graduation 
  • 210 attendees at Graduation including parents/carers, teachers, support staff, youth workers and representatives from the community. 
  • 6173 hours completed in 6 months by the young people 

What we learnt from the Pilot data 

  • Sports and Physical Activities were the most popular activities that young people got involved in. 
  • Practical Life Skills and Mental Health & Wellbeing activities were also favourites. 
  • Arts and Cultural activities plus outdoor learning were also popular. 
  • The pilot members enjoyed receiving the school holiday newsletters which were packed with activities to complete. Favourite activities were cooking, baking and drawing.
