Wrexham University staff enjoy Llangollen Eisteddfod
Date: July 17, 2026
Llangollen’s International Eisteddfod was the perfect place for Wrexham University staff to celebrate success on their Welsh Work language course.
Staff members received certificates for their progress in learning Welsh then travelled to Llangollen to take part in the Parade of Nations; a colourful parade of festival participants, sponsors and local organisations.
Wrexham University is one of the Eisteddfod’s official sponsors, and staff from various departments spent the week engaging with festival goers to highlight the work of the University, both in the local area, and further afield.
Elen Mai Nefydd, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Welsh Language, Heritage and Culture), at Wrexham University, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. It’s a significant milestone in our commitment to celebrating, promoting and supporting Welsh heritage and culture, and the coming together of communities across the world.
"Wrexham University enjoyed a fantastic week at the Eisteddfod, meeting participants and visitors from across the world and experiencing the unique atmosphere that makes this event so special. We are proud to support an event that brings people together through culture, language and the arts, and we look forward to building on this partnership further and working collaboratively with the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in the years ahead."
